What Are the Signs of Gum Disease?
Gum disease, or periodontal disease, attacks the gums and tooth-supporting tissues. Caused by bacteria, it can cause receding gums, as well as the loss of teeth. It also seems link to a number of other health conditions, including hypertension (high blood pressure), stroke, heart disease, diabetes, complications of pregnancy, and respiratory conditions.
Signs and symptoms of gum disease include:
- Gums which easily bleed, especially after brushing your teeth.
- Receding, swollen, reddened or tender gums.
- Teeth which look longer or become loose.
- Pain while eating/chewing.
- Persistent bad breath.

How Is Gum Disease Treated?
